Highways England are looking to recruit a Transport Planning Technician on a 3-year fixed term contract. If successful you will be learning how the planning system works in this country, understand how to assess the transport impact of new buildings and other developments on the highway, and what changes may be needed to our roads to ensure there is enough capacity for road users and they are safe to use.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge skills and competence in the workplace with the benefit of support from your learning provider, experienced colleagues, and the wider business. During your apprenticeship you will gain experience in all aspects of transport planning and will work towards achieving a Level 3 qualification and a career in Transport Planning.
This role will start in September 2021.
- You must hold (or be predicted) a minimum of five GCSEs (including English and Maths, at grade C/grade 4 or above)
- You’ll evidence the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
- You’ll evidence the ability to work to timescales, prioritising where necessary
- You’ll evidence the ability to give and receive information effectively
- You’ll evidence the ability to write clearly and concisely
- You’ll evidence you desire and passion to pursue a career within Highways England
