Close working with suppliers is integral to our success. Our supply chain delivers the majority of services to the strategic road network. By forging collaborate working relationships with our suppliers, running effective procurement and managing supplier performance robustly, we ensure value for money. With a commercial mindset, and keeping a close eye on the data, we see that road users benefit from the highest quality services.
This all calls for expertise in a host of specialist areas from contract development, assessment and management, through to cost estimation, claims handling, modelling and negotiation - all backed up by intelligence and reporting. Key decisions are made in close collaboration with the wider business, which recognises the essential role our expert advice and guidance plays.
Finance is an equally broad and equally vital area of the business. Our Finance professionals take a commercial and strategic approach to supporting key services and important decisions. They lead on everything from policy, to governance, to accounting.
It takes a wide range of expertise - from financial and management accounting, to business, financial and general ledger analysis. Business Partners work closely with departments to bring financial expertise into their day-to-day operations. Our high profile roles range from Assistant Finance Business Partner, through Finance Business Partner, to Head of Finance Business Partners. The Corporate Finance Manager is integral to our success, too. Highways England also relies on the talents and insight of specialists in financial planning, fraud and audit.
Crucially, the Finance division also includes a host of property management and facilities professionals, who look after our estate. Diligently protecting and enhancing our offices and assets, they ensure our working environments equip us all to deliver a brilliant job for the nation.
